My Pretty
And Your Little Dog Too

Meaning: Sometimes I just want to do pretty art.
It’s all about aesthetics.
Name is a play on words from The Wizard of Oz: “I’ll get you my pretty…and your little dog too!” I chose this theme because the leaves are black and white, just like the movie. That is the only connection besides a possible whimsy.

Those abstract leaves I’ve been painting but half are super colorful and half are greyscale.

Planning Notes
- I’ve decided to paint the right side of the paper a pale pink using white gesso and craft paint.
Progress Notes
-
The painting was successful. I’m unsure if I want to sketch something out or just wing it.
-
Ended up deciding to sketch it out. But I think I’ll leave it like this so I don’t go too crazy as I don’t want to keep erasing and leaving stray graphite marks.

-
4/26/26 - Oop. Oh well. The paper and gesso erase well enough.

-
4/27/26 - I still haven’t started. This is something I could quickly and easily finish but I’m afraid, like always. I don’t want to mess it up. But the point of this sketchbook is to experiment and expand.
