Summary: This is my THIRD everyday practice sketchbook. Come check out how it’s going!
Title

Purpose
To practice, sketch, and experiment. I will include either realism or abstract work.
Sketchbook Goals
- Finish! Please finish. There’s less pages, hopefully I can actually complete this sketchbook.
- Use a wide ranges of mediums. Experimenting means using up art supplies. But that being said…
- Get better at alcohol markers specifically. This book is designed for alcohol markers, so why not use them?
Sketchbook Rules
- Focus on practice. While the goal isn’t finished pieces, I can do finished pieces in it.
- Sketchbooks can be used for notes. I think taking notes on my art will really help improve it. Why note do it directly in my sketchbook?

Process Notes
Planning Notes
- 06/09/26 - Since deciding to switch to the Canson Graduate line, I chose the Canson Graduate Manga Sketchbook. The paper is the same GSM as the mixed media version but seems to be thinner.
Progress Notes
- 06/13/26 - I drew a dragon head as the first thing in the sketchbook but the thin mechanical pencil kept scraping up the paper. Turned me off the sketchbook a little.
- 06/17/26 - I keep scowling at the sketchbook and not using it but I am determined to finish it. I decided to paint it with acrylic marker. I’m surprised by how well it’s staying on and it made the sketchbook look AMAZING. Now I smile at it when I look at it and have been using it more.

Completion Notes
- 08/20/26 - I finally finished the sketchbook. I think I could have finished it much earlier but the paper was just so not what I want to work on. I don’t use markers like that and the slickness of the paper made using my main mediums very annoying. So i went long periods of time without working on this sketchbook. At some point, I decided I didn’t want to use it anymore and was going to switch to a new sketchbook…but if I’m going to do that anyway, I may as well finish this sketchbook by scribbling as much as I could and just messing around (just how sketchbooks should be used anyway). During my 9th art therapy session, I used Crayola markers to sketch and it felt great! Kinda wish I had used those markers for the whole sketchbook cuz I probably would have finished it quicker. But they helped me finish the book and now I can finally move on to a new one!
